5 Questions with Author Yasmin Fahr!
What's your favorite bookstore in LA?
I love Zibby's Bookstore in Santa Monica, Diesel in Brentwood and Now Serving for cookbooks.
Where is your go-to spot in LA for reading, writing, or connecting with the literary community?
Whenever I'm back in town, I love visiting the local bookstores mentioned above and attending any readings or talks they have, especially because so much connecting happens online for me these days (which I appreciate in so many ways), but it's also so wonderful to get to meet people in person, too.
What was the best book event you attended in the last year, or the one you’re most looking forward to?
Because I'm living in Spain, I don't get to attend as many as I'd like, but I went to a book party in London to celebrate my friend Angela Clutton's wonderful new book, which was wonderful, and I saw so many other food writers and members of the food community there.
What’s a book you loved this year that wasn’t written by you?
So many! I'm a voracious reader, mostly of nonfiction books and cookbooks. I loved Homecoming by Kate Morton (a doozy!) and Kate Atkinson's Life After Life.
Whether you’re a writer or a reader, you should eat well! What’s one of your favorite LA eateries?
So many!! I love Toranj in Westwood for their juicy chicken, Dudley Market in Venice, Here's Looking at You in Koreatown, and I recently visited Fatty Mart on this trip, and I'm obsessed with their pork, shrimp and leek dumplings.
